The SSRC is the primary public service area of the University Registrar.  We provide assistance to students registering for courses, applying for graduation, requesting transcripts and other selected services.  A photo ID is required for all transactions.   Referrals are made to other offices as appropriate.

Evaluation Services

Evaluation Services is primarily responsible for the articulation and placement of transfer credit for the undergraduate population and the auditing and awarding of all undergraduate degrees.  This office is also charged with determining endorsements for teacher education candidates, awarding of military credit, study abroad placement, honors cords, and diploma mailing.

Academic Records

Records maintenance staff provide services to students, including:

  • processing and sending to students notification of grade changes made by instructors;
  • processing and sending to students notification of credit hours awarded for AP, CLEP, and departmental proficiency examinations;
  • sending to students enrolled in independent study a course description form to be completed and kept on file in the Records Office.

Transcripts and Verifications

Transcripts and Verifications staff process all transcript requests. They also process official name changes that accompany transcript requests, as well as enrollment verification for insurance and other purposes. Illinois State uses the National Student Clearinghouse to process degree verifications.
