Diplomas are mailed two to three months after graduation.
Diploma covers are handed out at commencement. If the student did not attend commencement, and would like a diploma cover, contact Evaluation Services at (309) 438-2282.
Please note: If you have a financial hold, your diploma will not be mailed to you until the University Collection Services releases the financial hold. You may contact them at (309) 438-3347.
To obtain a diploma replacement, either download the request form or write a letter to Illinois State University, Evaluation Services, Campus Box 2202, Normal, IL, 61790-2202. In the letter, include the name to be printed on diploma, University Identification Number, date of birth, date of graduation, address, statement of reason for replacement, signature, and a check or money order for $12.00 made payable to Illinois State University. Allow six to eight weeks for processing.
If the original diploma was damaged in the mail, there is no charge for a diploma replacement. Send a written request along with the damaged diploma, to Illinois State University, Evaluation Services, Campus Box 2202, Normal, IL, 61790-2202.
If a diploma cover is lost or damaged, we will send a replacement for a fee of $4.00. A diploma cover damaged in the mail will be replaced at no cost to the student. Due to the danger of identity theft, persons who wish to change their first, middle, or last names on their transcripts or diplomas must provide a copy of their marriage license, a court order, or a dissolution decree certifying their name change. Please send a copy of one of these documents with your request. We cannot accept a copy of your current driver's license or social security card. Your original diploma must be returned with your request as well. Please be sure to sign this request. Without your signature, we cannot process your name change.
