University Withdrawal Information for Spring (withdrawal from all courses)

Withdrawal From the University for Spring (Withdrawing from ALL Courses)
Students who wish to withdraw from the University must obtain clearance for room and board and other financial obligations. Consult the catalog for responsibilities of students who withdraw from the University.

Through January 29   — Students who must withdraw from the University (all classes) do so by reporting in person with photo ID, by letter, or by fax to the Student Service and Referral Center, Moulton Hall 107, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and during Spring extended hours Monday-Thursday evenings until 5:30 p.m. No grades are assigned to courses dropped during this period.

After January 29   — Before the end of the twelfth week of classes, students contemplating withdrawal from the University must contact Student Service and Referral Center, Moulton Hall 107. If the student’s request to withdraw from the University is granted, all grades will be assigned in the same manner and under the same provisions as the regular course withdrawal policy except that the student will not be required to contact his or her instructors. If the withdrawal occurs on or before March 9 (the last day to withdrawal from a single course), WX grades are assigned for all courses. If the withdrawal occurs after March 9, the instructor of each course would assign a WP, WF, WX, or letter grade as appropriate. If medical or similar substantial reasons make it impossible for the student to follow the usual procedures, a letter signed by the student explaining the situation and requesting withdrawal from the University will be sufficient. Whether delivered in person, by mail or by fax, the withdrawal is processed in Office of the University Registrar.
Withdrawals requested by mail are addressed to Office of the University Registrar, Illinois State University, Campus Box 2202, Normal, IL 61790-2202. The fax number is (309) 438-8652.
Any student withdrawing after the eligible refund dates is fully liable for any unpaid amounts needed to conform with the Refund Policy (see “Financial Information” section).  Regardless of the circumstances of withdrawal, the student must obtain clearance for room and/or board obligations.

The last day for any student to withdraw from the University is Friday, November 10, 2006.
