Only if the student plans on attending ISU regularly. Summer only students & short term visiting students [those who intent to graduate from another college/university] do not have their transfer coursework evaluated. Students may present their transcripts to the department advisor if an override is needed.
Yes. To apply for military credit, the student should provide a copy of his/her DD-214 and their SMART/AARTS transcripts to Evaluations.
Total transfer hours applied to a degree program is 90 hours from a 4-year school or a combination of 2-year/4-year. Maximum from a 2-year school is 66 academic hours plus 4 hours PE activities. This limitation only applies to the Total Hours requirement for graduation. Transfer courses beyond this limit can still be used for other requirements such as Global Studies, Major/Minor requirements, S/M/T requirements, etc.
Yes as long as it is a Baccalaureate oriented associate degrees [Associate of/in SCIENCE or ART or ARTS & SCIENCE] from any regionally accredited institution are accepted.
A student can satisfy the Constitution requirement by:
- successful completion of a college-level US and IL Constitution examination
at any accredited Illinois college or university,
- successful completion of POL 105 at Illinois State University or its
equivalent, or
- successful completion of any General Education Middle Core – Individuals
and Civic Life
course.

First, allow a minimum of 2-3 weeks for the transcript to get through the various postal services. Transcripts processing time will vary depending on the time of year & volume received. Once a transcript has been processed by Evaluations, a summary report is mailed to the student. If it has been more then 6 weeks since the posting date from the sending school, contact Evaluations to see if the transcript has arrived or needs to be resent.
Yes. First contact the Evaluations office about the course. Some departments and some courses have restrictions about matching them to transfer courses. If the original articulation is old, the course can be re-evaluated. If there was no course description available at the time of the articulation, the student can provide Evaluations or the department with the course description.
Have an official transcript sent to Evaluation Service, Campus Box 2202. Unofficial transcripts, grade reports & class schedules can only be used to add “In Progress/No Credit” entries on their academic record.
