Our staff is here to assist you with all your registration-related questions. Here is what you will need to do to make your registration experience go smoothly:
Acceptance notification-The Admissions Office will notify you via letter of your acceptance to ISU. Once you have this confirmation, you can begin to set up your student email account.
Receive your University Identification Number (UID)-Your UID number is used by ISU in place of your social security number. This number will be sent to you by Admissions and will be included in your admissions packet. Or, if you applied online using the Welcome2ISU portal, you can get your UID number by logging back into that system. As this number is considered confidential, we can’t give it out to you over the telephone without your written consent.
Activate your University Logon Identification account (ULID)-You will use your ULID to access your email and to access My.IllinoisState.edu to register. It takes approximately 24-48 hrs after being admitted to be able to set up your ULID. To activate your account, you will need to know your UID number. Go to https://secure.ilstu.edu/ulid/
My.IllinoisState.edu is full of information you will find useful including: course offerings, registration information, your financial aid and billing information and much, much more! To login to My.IllinoisState.edu go to https://my.illinoisstate.edu/
Set up your Personal Identification Number (PIN)-Once you’re in My.IllinoisState.edu and use the Academics or Student tabs, you will need to set up your PIN. Your PIN is a four-digit number that you use to access personal information and to register for courses. The first time you access these tabs, your PIN will be the default of your birth month and birth day. For example, if you were born July 26, 1991, your default PIN is 0726. For security reasons, you are required to change your PIN from the default. To set your PIN, do this:
If you ever forget your PIN, you will need to either come in person to 107 Moulton Hall or fax in a request to have it defaulted back to your birth month and day. Information on how to default your PIN can be found at http://www.registrar.ilstu.edu/info/pin_uid.shtml
